The issues raised are of general interest to, suitable for and easily understood by test takers entering university or seeking employment. Responses to IELTS <a href=\"https:\/\/everestlanguageschool.com\/fr\/correction-de-lexpression-ecrite-de-lielts\/\">writing<\/a> Task 2 should be written in an academic, semi-formal style (similar to how you would write in university).<\/p>\n<p>Example IELTS writing task 2 question:<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #ededed;\">Some people believe that taking the IELTS is a fair way to decide who can attend a university course in Dublin. Others believe it is not fair to stop people from attending a university course based on their level of English.<br \/>\n<b>Discuss both views and give your opinion<\/b><\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Paragraph 1:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A) Paraphrase\/ restructure the question<\/li>\n<li>B) Overview: state how the essay will be structured<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A) In all IELTS writings the first sentence(s) should attempt to express the question in another way. This can be done by using synonyms (paraphrasing) or by restructuring the grammar of the sentences.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Paraphrasing<\/h4>\n<p>\u201cSome people believe that taking the IELTS is a fair way to decide who can attend a university course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Example of paraphrasing:<\/span><b> Many<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> people <\/span><b>think<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that <\/span><b>sitting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the IELTS exam is a <\/span><b>reasonable<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> way to <\/span><b>determine <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who i<\/span><b>s able to take a third-level<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> course in Dublin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOthers believe it is not fair to stop people from attending a university course based on their level of English.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Example of paraphrasing:<\/span><b> Other people<\/b> <b>are of the opinion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that it is <\/span><b>unfair <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to <\/span><b>block<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> people <\/span><b>taking part in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a university course because of their English level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<h4>Restructuring<\/h4>\n<p>\u201cSome people believe that taking the IELTS is a fair way to decide who can attend a university course. Others believe it is not fair to stop people from attending a university course based on their level of English.\u201d \u201cOthers believe it is not fair to stop people from attending a university course based on their level of English.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Example of restructuring:<\/span> It is commonly believed that taking an English exam should be used when assessing who can be accepted to university in Dublin. However, it is believed by others that it is unfair for someone to be stopped from attending university based on their level of English.<\/p>\n<h4>B) Example of an overview<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In the following essay both sides of this argument will be examined and in the conclusion I will offer my opinion on the topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>In all writing tasks, you can structure your introduction paragraph in the same way.
